6-(Dimethylamino)-9-(4-Methylbenzyl)-2-(Trifluoromethyl)-9H-Purine is an antiviral agent that inhibits the replication of rhinovirus and other serotypes. It is a lipophilic compound that has optimum activity at concentrations of 0.1 to 10 μg/mL. 6-(Dimethylamino)-9-(4-Methylbenzyl)-2-(Trifluoromethyl)-9H-Purine binds to the active site of the viral polymerase, preventing the enzyme from adding nucleotides to the growing DNA strand.
