Decafluoro-4-(Pentafluoroethyl)Cyclohexanesulfonic Acid Potassium Salt binds to carboxylates, which are common substrates for many industrial processes. It has been shown to be toxic to amphipods in laboratory experiments. Decafluoro-4-(Pentafluoroethyl)Cyclohexanesulfonic Acid Potassium Salt is less toxic to biota than other sulfonates, such as perfluorooctane sulfonate and perfluorooctanoic acid.
