Product Information

Name:
N-Ethyl 2-bromobenzamide
Description:

N-Ethyl 2-bromobenzamide is a poisonous compound that belongs to the group of cardiac glycosides. It has been found in some medicinal preparations, such as usnic acid and can be used for the treatment of epilepsy. N-Ethyl 2-bromobenzamide has anticancer activity which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of fatty acids in cancer cells. It also possesses constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) binding properties and prevents the synthesis of steroids, inhibiting their biological effects. This compound may have anticonvulsant effects due to inhibition of voltage-gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes, which leads to an increase in seizure threshold.
