Bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)methanamine is a potent inhibitor of the uptake of bradykinin, which may be used as a therapeutic agent for prostate cancer. It also inhibits the uptake of other molecules such as amide conjugates and apolipoproteins. Bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)methanamine has been shown to increase bone metabolism by increasing bone mineral density and inhibiting osteoclastogenesis. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo by inducing apoptosis. The bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)methanamine molecule can be modified with bortezomib to form a bortezomib-bis(diethoxyphosphoryl)methanamine conjugate, which is an inhibitor of proteasome activity.
