Product Information
- 1H-pyrazole, 1,1',1''-methylidynetris-
- Tris(1-Pyrazolyl)Methane
Tris(1-pyrazolyl)methane (TPPM) is a copper complex. It has been shown to have the potential to scavenge reactive oxygen species and inhibit the activity of DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, which are key enzymes in the production of oxidative DNA damage. TPPM also has low energy redox potentials, which make it an effective antioxidant. It has been shown to be active against Gram-positive bacteria by inhibiting bacterial dna gyrase and topoisomerase IV. TPPM is synthesized through a two-step process involving its reaction with 1-aminopyrrole followed by condensation with formaldehyde. The isolated yield for TPPM is typically less than 5%. Tris(1-pyrazolyl)methane has been shown to have nucleophilic attack properties and produces NMR spectra that can be used to elucidate coordination geometry.
