Description:

(3S)-Trichloromethyl-cis-tetrahydropyrrolo[1,2-c]oxazol-1-one is a cyclic endoperoxide that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. This compound has been shown to be effective against chronic pain in mice and rats. It is also used as an antiglaucoma drug and may utilize the natural antioxidant system in the body to prevent oxidative damage to cells. Preparative methods of this compound are described in the literature.
