4-Ethoxy-2-nitroaniline is a chemical that is used in the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and other organic substances. It has been shown to have logistic regression and sublethal effects on populations of ciliates. 4-Ethoxy-2-nitroaniline inhibits the population growth of Tetrahymena pyriformis by causing an increase in the number of cells in the final stage of their life cycle, resulting in a decrease in cell numbers. This chemical also has reactive properties that make it toxic to living organisms. 4-Ethoxy-2-nitroaniline has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria at concentrations as low as 0.02 parts per million (ppm). The molecular descriptors for this chemical are log P = 2.6; H = 1.4; L = -0.8; B = -1.6; C = -1.7; D = -
