Description:

Ethyl 2,4-dihydroxy-6-pentylbenzoate is a synthetic alkylsulfonyl pharmaceutical formulation that is used to synthesize tetrahydrocannabinol. It is also an anti-inflammatory compound that has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor and interleukin 1. This drug can be used in vivo for the study of inflammation, pain, and neuropathic pain. It has been shown to have inhibitory activities against the following enzymes: acid hydrolase, diisobutylaluminium hydride (DIBALH) reductase, orsellinic acid carboxylesterase, and cathepsin B.
