Product Information
2-(4-ethoxy-2,3-difluorophenyl)acetic acid is a target compound in the synthesis of 2-aminoethylthiomorpholine. The intermediate amide can be synthesized by reacting the carboxylic acid with thiomorpholine. The reaction temperature should be between 0 and 100 degrees Celsius, and the reaction time should be between 10 minutes and 6 hours. The reaction can be carried out in an organic solvent such as dichloromethane or tetrahydrofuran. This process generates byproducts that include gaseous hydrogen chloride, which must be removed through either scrubbing or venting. Alkaline hydrolysis can also be used to produce 2-(4-ethoxy-2,3-difluorophenyl)acetic acid from the intermediate amide.
