Product Information
- Benzoic acid, 2-fluoro-4-iodo-, ethyl ester
Ethyl 2-fluoro-4-iodobenzoate (E2FIB) is a retinoid that binds to the retinoic acid receptor and inhibits transcriptional activity of this receptor. E2FIB has been shown to be an antagonist of retinoic acid, which may underlie its antiproliferative effects in vivo. E2FIB is also a bicyclic molecule with two heteroatoms in the ring system, making it useful for assays involving biological activity. This compound has not been shown to have any biological activity of its own, but it can be used as a reagent to introduce other compounds into cells.
