Product Information
- 3-Thiophenecarboxylic acid, 2-amino-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-, ethyl ester
Ethyl 2-amino-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)thiophene-3-carboxylate is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) antagonist that has been shown to have anti-cancer and anti-epileptic effects. It also has been shown to inhibit the polymerase chain reaction in tumor tissue and may act as a potential mechanism of action for cancer treatment. This drug is being studied as a nootropic agent, which could be due to its ability to increase contractility and granule cell activity in the cerebellum. The drug also inhibits neurotransmission through its allosteric inhibition of nAChRs on granule cells in the cerebellum.
