It is an aromatic aldehyde that can be used for the synthesis of amines and benzylamines. 1-(4-Ethoxyphenyl)propan-1-amine undergoes a reductive amination reaction with ketones to produce aromatic amides. It can also be used for the synthesis of aryl ketones by reduction of nitroarenes using sodium borohydride in an acidic solution.
