Description:
(Ethylsulfonyl)acetic acid is a catalytic oxidant that is used in biphasic reactions. It is an efficient and economical catalyst for oxidation reactions. In the first phase, the (ethylsulfonyl)acetic acid is reduced to produce sulfinic acid. In the second phase, sulfinic acid reacts with hydrogen peroxide to form sulfur dioxide, which reacts with oxygen to produce water and oxygen gas.
