Product Information

Name:
1-Ethyl-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole
Description:

1-Ethyl-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole is an organic compound made up of two isomers. The isomers are readily distinguished by NMR due to their different chemical shifts. The catalytic conversion of the unreacted 1-ethyl-3-methylpyrazole to the desired 3,5 dihydroxypyrazole isomer can be achieved by reacting it with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide. The reactivity of this reaction can be explained by the fact that pyrazoles are electron deficient in their ring and have a high tendency to form covalent bonds with other molecules.
