3-(4-Ethylphenyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid is a drug that belongs to the class of dpp-iv inhibitors. It is used to treat infectious diseases and metabolic disorders, such as diabetes mellitus type 2. 3-(4-Ethylphenyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid inhibits the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP IV), which catalyses the break down of certain hormones in the body. This drug has been shown to be effective in reducing symptoms of type 2 diabetes, such as fatigue, thirst and weight loss. In addition, this agent reduces blood glucose levels and insulin resistance. 3-(4-Ethylphenyl)-1H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid also has antihypertensive and antidiabetic effects.
