Product Information

Synonyms:
  • 1H-pyrazole
  • 1-ethyl-4-nitro-
Description:

1-Ethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole is a chemical compound that can be synthesized by electroreduction of nitrobenzene in acidic solution. This reaction yields 1-ethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole and the chloride ion. Electrode parameters are important to this process and must be carefully controlled. The reaction is most efficient at temperatures below 60°C, but the yield decreases with increasing temperature. For preparative purposes, the product can be obtained from hydroxylamine hydrochloride and hydroxylamine sulfate in an acidic solution at room temperature. Hydroxylamine reacts with nitrobenzene to produce 1-ethyl-4-nitro-1H - pyrazole. The hydroxy group is responsible for the formation of this product.
