Product Information
- 4-thiazolecarboxylic acid
- 2-(2-pyridinyl)-
- ethyl ester
Ethyl 2-pyridin-2-yl-1,3-thiazole-4-carboxylate is a ligand that binds to the surface of an electrode. It has been shown to undergo electrochemical oxidation and reduction reactions with perchlorates and chlorides. The adsorption of ethyl 2-pyridin-2-yl-1,3-thiazole-4 -carboxylate onto gold electrodes has been studied using cyclic voltammetry. A disulfide bond is formed in the presence of a reducing agent such as sodium ascorbate or mercaptoethanol.
