Description:
Ethyl 3-bromo-2-oxobutanoate (EBOOB) is a regiospecific, pharmacokinetic inhibitor of Taxol. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of mouse tumor cells and human cancer cells in vitro. EBOOB inhibits the production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and IL-1β, which are cytokines that promote inflammation and cancer progression. EBOOB has also been shown to be effective against lung cancer cells in mice without inducing any toxic effects on normal tissue.
