Description:

Ethyl 2-aminocyclohex-1-ene-1-carboxylate is a carboxylate that has been shown to have an antidepressant effect in vitro. It binds selectively to the 5HT1A receptor subtype, which is coupled to adenyl cyclase and cAMP production, as well as the linker region of the 5HT1A receptor. In vivo studies have shown that this compound has antagonistic activity against serotonin (5HT) receptors and acts as a noncompetitive antagonist at the 5HT2A receptor.
