Description

Ethyl 3-(4-bromophenyl)propanoate is used as a precursor to other chemical compounds. It is typically used in the cross-coupling reaction with boronates and esters. In this process, the organic compound reacts with an organometallic reagent (such as pinacolborane) to form a new carbon-carbon bond. The cross-coupling reaction can also be used for hydroboration, debromination, and isomerization reactions. An ionic liquid such as 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate can be added to increase the yield of this process.
