Product Information
- Ethyl 4-Hydroxyhydrocinnamate
Ethyl 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoate is a growth factor that belongs to the class of amides. It is a potent inhibitor of fatty acid synthesis, and has been shown to be an effective antibiotic against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Staphylococcus aureus, and viruses. Ethyl 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoate inhibits the activity of cytosolic phospholipase A2 (PLA2), which is responsible for the release of arachidonic acid from cell membrane phospholipids in inflammatory diseases such as acute lung injury. The compound also inhibits the growth of S. aureus and other bacteria by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
