Description:
E-Ethyl 3-acetamidobut-2-enoate is a colorless, water soluble liquid. It is an isomer of gamma butyrolactone and has an intermolecular hydrogen bond between the two acetamido groups and the two ethyl groups. The crystal structure consists of chains with an intermolecular hydrogen bond that forms a linear arrangement. This compound can be used as a precursor to other compounds such as polyester polymers and pharmaceuticals.
