Description:
1-Ethynyl-2-methoxybenzene is a fluorescence quencher that can be reversibly turned on and off by changing the pH of the solution. The chemical has been used to study the mechanism for the reaction of terminal alkynes with trifluoroacetic acid, which is an efficient method for synthesizing chromenes. 1-Ethynyl-2-methoxybenzene has also been used in cancer research as a fluorescent probe and as a kinetic energy indicator. 1-Ethynyl-2-methoxybenzene has shown to be an effective quencher for fluorescence analysis and is hydrated in water solutions.
