Ethyl 1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate (EHPC) is a synthetic cannabinoid that binds to the CB1 and CB2 receptors. It was designed to be non-selective and has been modified with modifications in the carboxamide group and with structural modifications on the pyrrolidine ring. EHPC has shown efficacy in inflammatory diseases, with an anti-inflammatory effect in animal models of colitis. Modifications of this molecule have been studied as strategies to increase its selectivity for CB2 receptor agonists.
