4-(3-Ethynylphenyl)amino)-6,7-benzo-12-crown-4-quinazoline is a topoisomerase inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits the activity of kinases by binding to active sites on these proteins and blocking the transfer of phosphate groups from ATP to other proteins. This drug also has an effect on hyperproliferative diseases such as lung cancer. 4-(3-Ethynylphenyl)amino)-6,7-benzo-12-crown-4-quinazoline may cause minimal toxicity, but it is not yet clear if it is a suitable replacement for pemetrexed or squamous cell carcinoma treatments.
