Endosulfan is a chemical that is used as an insecticide, acaricide, and nematicide. It has been detected in human serum and wastewater treatment plants. Endosulfan is metabolized by the liver to produce endosulfane, which can be excreted in urine or bile. Endosulfan lactone is a metabolite of endosulfane and it has been shown to have GABA-like activity. The optimum concentration of endosulfan lactone for the inhibition of enzyme activities was found to be 0.1 µg/ml for esterases and 0.4 µg/ml for lipases. The analytical method used for measuring this compound involves gas chromatography with mass spectrometry detection (GC-MS). When exposed to bacterial strains such as Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aure
