Description:

2-Ethylthiazole is an aromatic organic compound that absorbs ultraviolet light. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. 2-Ethylthiazole binds to the receptor for formyl group, which is a chemical messenger involved in inflammation. In addition, 2-Ethylthiazole has been shown to inhibit choroidal neovascularization and cancer in mice. This compound also plays a role in the biosynthesis of histamine and serotonin, which are neurotransmitters involved in the regulation of mood and appetite. The 2-Ethylthiazole molecule can be synthesized from diethylaniline by reaction with formaldehyde and sulfuric acid.
