Product Information
Ethyl4,6-dichloro-3-formyl-1H-indole-2-carboxylate is a synthetic indole compound that is an antagonist of the NMDA receptor. It was synthesized by condensation of ethyl 4,6-dichloroacetoacetate with 1H-indole and subsequent substitution with chloroacetic acid. The synthesis of this antagonist was inspired by the observation that glycine is capable of terminating NMDA receptor activation. This analog has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the NMDA receptor in vitro and in vivo.
