Ethyl5-amino-4-cyano-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (ECAP) is an intermediate that belongs to the group of polysubstituted heterocycles. It has a mass spectrum and an infrared spectrum that are abnormal. ECAP is not soluble in water, but can be dissolved in acetone or chloroform. The pyrazolopyrimidine ring of ECAP has been shown to have spectral properties similar to those of other heterocycles, including pyrazole and pyridine rings. Spectral data for ECAP show the presence of NH and CN groups, as well as the absence of CHOH groups.
