Product Information
- [1,1'-Biphenyl]-4-ol, 4'-ethyl-
- 4-(4-Ethylphenyl)Phenol
4-(4-Ethylphenyl)phenol is a crystalline compound which is soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water. 4-(4-Ethylphenyl)phenol can be used to synthesize polymers with different properties by radical polymerization. The technique of liquid crystalline polymerization can be used to create copolymers and homopolymers that are stable and have an index of refraction. In the process of radical polymerization, the monomer 4-(4-Ethylphenyl)phenol is synthesized from acrylates, which are added to a solution containing a free radical initiator.
