Description:
Ethyl 3-aminothieno[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate is a heteroaromatic compound that belongs to the class of orthoesters. It has been shown to be an antistaphylococcal agent and exhibits bactericidal activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other gram-positive bacteria. This compound has been used as a reagent in the synthesis of cyclocondensation reactions with amines and formamides, which have been shown to produce nucleophilic aliphatic amines.
