The functional theory of this ionic liquid has been verified by the measurement of its NMR spectra. 1-Ethyl-1-methylpyrrolidiniumbromide has been shown to be an efficient electrolyte for electrochemical cells with high energy efficiency and low overpotential. This ionic liquid has also been used as a solvent for the synthesis of tribromides.
