Description:

2-Ethyl-5-nitrobenzenamine is a synthetic, yellow, water soluble dye that has been used as a dyestuff and an antineoplastic drug. It reacts with cellulose acetate to produce a fast reaction time of less than one minute. 2-Ethyl-5-nitrobenzenamine is used in the production of nitrous acid for the synthesis of pyrazolone dyes, which are used in the textile industry. This compound can be used to detect pollution by measuring its presence in environmental samples such as water or soil. 2-Ethyl-5-nitrobenzenamine has also been shown to have anticancer activity against tumor cells.
