Product Information
Ethyl 2-ethoxycarbothioylsulfanylacetate (EECS) is an amphiphilic compound. It is a copolymer with a linear chain, which can be polymerized or copolymerized. EECS has been shown to have film-forming properties in experimental studies and it has been used to create polymers that are fluorinated. The synthesis of this compound is based on the radical reaction of ethyl acetoacetate and sulfanylacetic acid. This synthetic process has been shown to produce copolymers with different molecular weights. The nmr analyses of these copolymers show that they contain a linear chain with alternating ester and amide bonds.
