Product Information

Name:
3-Ethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole
Description:

3-Ethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole is a nitrated organic compound, which can be synthesized by substituting ethyl with nitro. The synthesis of this compound requires the use of sulfuric acid and p-nitrophenol. Nitration is the process of converting a substance into a nitrate by adding an oxidizing agent such as sulfuric acid to it. This reaction produces a nitric oxide radical, which then reacts with the ethyl group in 3-ethyl-4-nitro-1H-pyrazole to produce 3,5 dichloro nitrobenzene. The nitrogen from the original molecule is released and forms a bond with the oxygen in the newly formed 3,5 dichloro nitrobenzene. The chemistry of this process is similar to that of 1,2 dinitropyrene.
