Description

2-Ethyl-1-hexylamine is an aliphatic amine that is soluble in water. It has been used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and reaction product, as well as a solvent for copper complex. 2-Ethyl-1-hexylamine exhibits viscosity and hydrogen bonding interactions. It also has optical properties and can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules. The hydroxyl group of the amine reacts with metal ions to form complexes, which are then used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical preparations. 2-Ethyl-1-hexylamine can react with naphthalene to form polymers, which have been shown to possess anti-inflammatory properties.
