Product Information
Entecavir is a drug that is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C. It inhibits viral replication by interfering with the function of reverse transcriptase, which is an enzyme that synthesizes DNA from RNA. Entecavir has been shown to be effective against lamivudine-resistant HIV in vitro and in vivo. It has also been shown to reduce levels of HBV-DNA in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Entecavir has biocompatible properties and can be administered orally or intravenously. Entecavir is not active against herpes simplex virus or influenza virus and does not have any significant drug interactions.
