(Et 2 NH)PdCl 2 is a supramolecular complex that can be formed by the reaction of ethylenediamine with palladium chloride. It contains two HgCdCl 6 octahedra and four PdCl 4 tetrahedra, which are joined together in a 2-D structure. This compound dissociates in water to form an acid-complex ion and chloride, which is then oxidized to produce hydrogen chloride and (Et 2 NH)Pd(OH)Cl. The formation constants for this compound have been determined using electrospray mass spectrometry. This complex has shown anti-inflammatory properties in human erythrocytes when it was hemolyzed and multimetallic complexes were formed.
