Product Information
- Benzene, (Ethynyloxy)-
- Ethynyl phenyl ether
Ethynyloxybenzene is a phenoxy compound with a carbon-carbon double bond. It is an exothermic chemical that can be synthesized by reacting aluminium with phenol. Ethynyloxybenzene has three functional groups, which are the phenyl group, the ethynyl group and the ether group. The biological properties of this compound have not been fully investigated, but it is known to be dehydrating. This reaction mechanism begins with the addition of phosphorus pentachloride to unsaturated ketones, which results in the formation of an intermediate molecule that then reacts with ethyne to form ethynyloxybenzene.
