Description:
1,2-Ethanedisulfonic acid is a chemical compound that has shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as epidermal growth factor and prostaglandin E2 in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. 1,2-Ethanedisulfonic acid also inhibits the production of monoclonal antibodies by B cells and suppresses inflammation in autoimmune diseases. 1,2-Ethanedisulfonic acid has been shown to be stable under a wide range of conditions and exhibits low toxicity in animal models. This chemical compound is currently being investigated for possible use in wastewater treatment as well as for its therapeutic properties against cardiac diseases.
