Product Information
- (2R)-2-[[(2R,3R)-3-amino-2-hydroxy-4-phenyl-butanoyl]amino]-4-methyl-pentanoic acid hydrochloride
Epibestatin HCl is a synthetic peptide that has been shown to have anti-tumor activity. It binds to the cytolytic domain of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and inhibits its enzymatic activity. Epibestatin HCl also inhibits the synthesis of luciferase, which is an enzyme involved in bioluminescent reactions. Epibestatin HCl has been shown to inhibit light emission from luciferases in assay solutions. The optimal pH for luminescence is between 7.5 and 8.5 and the optimal reaction temperature is between 20°C and 25°C. The buffer used for luminescence reactions must be phosphate buffered saline or Tris-HCl buffer at pH 7.5 to 8.5, with a final concentration of 1 M NaCl and 2 mM MgCl2
