Description:
1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone is a glycol ether that is commonly used as a solvent. It has a low boiling point, which makes it suitable for use in low light and at constant pressure. 1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone is also used as an intermediate in the preparation of polycarboxylic acid. The reaction mechanism of this compound is not fully understood; however, it has been shown to be involved in both viscosity and hydrogen bonding. 1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone can also be found in animal experiments, as well as urine samples and analytical methods.
