Description:

Glycols are a class of compounds that are used in lubricating oils, solvents, and other materials. Ethyl 2-(2-formylaminothiazol-4-yl) acetate is a glycol that has been used as a de-ionized water absorbent and aerosol propellant. It is also used as a solvent for acrylate monomer and an intermediate in the production of silicone polymers. This compound also has an ultrasonic cleaning effect, which can be attributed to its high molecular weight. The ethylenediamine monoester (EDM) is an esterification product of ethylene diamine with an organic acid or alcohol. EDM can be synthesized by reacting ethylene diamine with propionic acid or sulfamic acid. EDM has been shown to have antifungal properties.
