Description

Ethyl 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acetate is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in most organic solvents. The compound has been shown to have significant antifungal activity against several fungal species, including Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Aspergillus niger. It also inhibits the growth of several bacterial strains such as Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae. This compound can be used to treat diseases caused by these bacteria. Ethyl 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acetate also has significant antipsychotic effects and can be used for the treatment of psychosis.
