3-Ethoxy-2-propenoic acid
Synonyms:
  • 3-Ethoxyacrylic Acid
  • 2-propenoic acid, 3-ethoxy-, (2E)-
Description:

3-Ethoxy-2-propenoic acid is a substrate for the synthesis of dasatinib, an anti-cancer drug. The reaction products are formed from a nucleophilic substitution mechanism and can be used to synthesize other drugs. 3-Ethoxy-2-propenoic acid is generally obtained by the reaction of ethyl diazoacetate with chloride in vivo. The synthesis of this compound has been shown to be catalyzed by aryl diazo compounds and oxygenated compounds such as 2,2′-diazobis(2,4-dimethylvaleronitrile) (DBMDVN).
