Description:

(2R)-2-[(4-Ethyl-2,3-dioxopiperazinyl)carbonylamino]-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)acetic acid is an organic compound that belongs to the group of medicines. It is used in the synthesis of other medicines. The reaction yield is calculated by measuring the weight of the starting material and product after a reaction has been carried out for a given time. The reaction solution was prepared by adding trimethylchloride, formamide, and acetic anhydride to a cooled reaction flask containing phosphorus oxychloride. Acetone was added as an organic solvent and trifluoride gas was bubbled through the mixture for 5 minutes before silicon tetrachloride was added dropwise. Triphosgene was then added in one portion and hydrochloric acid was added dropwise to give a pH value of about 2.5. Piperazine was then added at room temperature.
