Ethyl 3-methyl-1H-indole-2-carboxylate is a benzothiazole that has been shown to be an active component of the alkaloid extract of Sedum. It is also an intermediate in the synthesis of indolenine, which is an alkaloid that has been identified as a potential anti-inflammatory agent.
