Description:
Ethyl 3-chloroquinoxaline-2-carboxylate is a novel and selective inhibitor of the kinase Pim-1. It inhibits the enzymatic activity of Pim-1 at nanomolar concentrations, but does not inhibit other kinases such as Raf, Src, JNK, or ERK. Ethyl 3-chloroquinoxaline-2-carboxylate has been shown to be cytostatic in vitro at low micromolar concentrations against chronic myeloid leukemia cells. This drug also has an effect on tumor growth in vivo with no significant toxicity.
