Description:

3-Ethynylbenzoic acid is a pyridinium compound that has antiviral activity. It inhibits the growth of cells with BCR-ABL kinase, which is an enzyme involved in the phosphorylation of tyrosine residues on proteins. 3-Ethynylbenzoic acid binds to the ATP binding site and prevents ATP from binding, preventing the phosphorylation of tyrosine residues. 3-Ethynylbenzoic acid is synthesized by a solid phase procedure. It also inhibits cellular protein synthesis by inhibiting ribosomal RNA synthesis and protein translation. This compound has been used to study crystallography and multinuclear chemical diversity.br>br>
