Description

1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde is a potent anticancer agent that belongs to the group of anions. It can be used in the treatment of cancer, with potent anticancer activity against a number of human cancer cells. 1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde has been shown to effectively inhibit DNA replication and induce DNA strand breaks. It also has chemosensory properties, which make it an ideal candidate for use as a sensor molecule. This compound is capable of binding to methylene groups on proteins and may interfere with the function of these molecules, which are involved in cell division. 1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carbaldehyde also exhibits strong vibrational and optical properties; it absorbs strongly in the ultraviolet region (280 nm) and has a low extinction coefficient at 400 nm. Its absorption spectrum extends into the visible region as well, where it exhibits intense coloration.
